CBRE ousts JLL in Manchester office agents league table

CBRE has stripped Jones Lang LaSalle of its Manchester office agents crown, by more than doubling the amount of space it transacted this year.

The agents disposed of nearly a third of all space in the city – 290,000 sq ft – in the year to the end of August, as Manchester’s total broke through the 1m sq ft threshold. The winner doubled not just space transacted, but the number of deals it acted on too, according to figures from Estates Gazette Regional Office Research.

Trophy deals boosted DTZ into second place. It acted on two of the largest deals in the city this year, finding tenants for 58,000 sq ft at The Alexandra at Harbour City. It also found a buyer for 1 Archway, signing web hosting firm UKFast up for the entire 40,000 sq ft building, which has been empty since it was built 10 years ago.

Overall, the Manchester office market continued to recover, with average deal sizes up 90% and take-up rising by a fifth, compared to the same period last year.
