The planning application to extend Manchester City Football Club’s Etihad Stadium by 14,500 has been submitted to Manchester city council.

To achieve the expansion the North and South stands will be elevated to allow an increase of as many as 6,250 seats on each stand.

Up to 2,000 extra pitchside seats are also be built, increasing total match day capacity to 62,170 from the current 47,670.

The planning application also includes the expansion of concourse facilities, public realm alterations and associated infrastructure and landscaping works.
