Brent Cross supports Victoria’s Secret arrival

Lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is to open a shop at Brent Cross shopping centre in north London.

The retailer has agreed a 15-year lease on the 12,000 sq ft shop at the mall, which is jointly owned by Hammerson and Standard Life Investments UK Shopping Centre Trust.

It will be configured from four existing stores and open in November.

It is part of Victoria’s Secret expansion in the UK and coincides with the completion of the £1m refurbishment of Mall 5 at Brent Cross, which is home to the centre’s aspirational brands such as Russell & Bromley and Jaeger.

Sheila King, leasing director, new business at Hammerson, said: “Adding this world-renowned brand to the line-up at Brent Cross demonstrates global retailer’s continued confidence in our long-term plans for the centre as well as the strong trading opportunity the scheme offers today.

“Continuing to attract international brands and diversify our retail offer is key to maintaining Brent Cross’s appeal amongst its loyal catchment.”

Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail for Standard Life Investments, added: “Completing this deal with Victoria’s Secret, along with other major global brands, highlights the quality of Brent Cross as a prime retail asset in the UK.

“Our ongoing investment in Brent Cross will ensure that the centre retains its iconic status and remains one of the best shopping destinations in the UK for brands and consumers alike.”

Cushman & Wakefield and Lunson Mitchenall acted on behalf of Hammerson and Standard Life Investments; CBRE represented Victoria’s Secret.
