St Modwen has submitted a planning application to build out the next phase of its £1bn Glan Llyn development in Newport.
Phase two comprises 47 homes built under residential brand St Modwen Homes. Work is expected to start on the 600-acre site in April 2014, bringing the first homes to market in summer.
Glan Llyn will see 4,000 homes and a 100-acre Celtic Business Park as well as a leisure and retail centre and new schools.
The phase two houses would range in size from two- and three- to four-bed homes, following on from the 307 homes being built by joint venture partner Persimmon Homes through phase one.
St Modwen Homes regional residential director Ben Cook said: “We are very excited at the prospect of bringing St Modwen Homes to south Wales for the first time. We pride ourselves in providing house buyers with good-quality homes that have a contemporary edge but that also offer something a little bit different from the norm.
“Our unique designs and signature features, including full-height windows, and a variety of render finishes and colours, go that extra mile to deliver high-quality homes with unique character and beauty.”
