DTZ has jumped five places up the Cardiff office agents rankings to become the Welsh capital’s top leasing agent, according to Estates Gazette Offices Research.
The national agent signed tenants for deals totalling nearly 190,000 sq ft in the 12 months to the end of February, almost three times as much space as the same period last year, and secured nearly a quarter of this year’s deals in EG’s Cardiff office agent’s league table.
The national agent knocked local player Fletcher Morgan off the top spot and saw off a blistering attack on the market by Knight Frank, which increased its bag of deals by 137%.
DTZ’s charge was led by a 48,500 sq ft letting to the International Baccalaureate Organisation on Cardiff Gate Business Park, which accounted for a quarter of its space transacted.
Overall, however, its average deal size remained static on last year. But it pushed the number of deals signed up from 17 in 2013 to 61 this year.
The amount of space signed for in the market overall more than doubled to nearly 720,000 sq ft.
