Matthews moves to Montagu


Former Deutsche Postbank UK boss Bruce Matthews has joined agent Montagu Evans as a consultant. Matthews, who has more than 15 years real estate finance experience, is tasked with expanding the firm’s funding and debt advisory practice.


Picton posts NAV rise


Picton Property Income has posted a 4.8% rise in NAV to 56.4p a share for the first quarter of 2014. The fund said net assets had grown from £204.3m to £214.1m after it increased its exposure to the South East markets.


CLS appoints Lennart Sten


CLS Holdings has appointed former GE Capital Real Estate Europe president and chief executive Lennart Sten as an independent non-executive director. Sten, who retired from GE Capital last month, takes the position at the Anglo-Swedish firm from 1 August.


Hammerson adds £5m of rent


Hammerson signed 80 leases totalling 237,000 sq ft representing more than £5m pa in the period from 1 January to 22 April. The REIT said the UK leases were struck at 8% above ERV, while in France where it owns eight malls, they were 1% above ERV.


Pears drops Guggenheim deal


The William Pears Group has terminated a deal to sell its niche lending platform to Guggenheim Partners. The group is now reviewing options for the future of Capital A after negotiations with the US finance house broke down last month.
