Mountain cricket not so steep

In the 19 April issue of EG we carried a story about David Harper, head of property services at Hotel Partners Africa, who is looking for cricketers to play at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Tusk, an anti-poaching charity.

We incorrectly quoted the cost for flights and porterage as £4,192.

The actual cost is a less steep (unlike the mountain) £1,492.

The match starts on 20 September and will need seven to nine days of your time.

Harper is hoping to raise £500,000 for the charities.

If you fancy taking part in the challenge, e-mail David.Harper@HotelPartners Africa.com. Players will be selected based on the basis of their desire to raise funds, rather than their ability to play the game. If you don’t fancy playing but would like to sponsor the venture, visit www.justgiving.com/teams/MtKiliMadness.
