Boardroom hosts tales of a bygone capital

Goldcrest Land hosted a tea party for 30 elderly people at its headquarters recently, making a change from the usual atmosphere in the boardroom.

The tea parties, with guests coming through the charity Contact the Elderly, are a monthly fixture for the developer.

Staff provide tea, cakes and sandwiches and in return they get numerous and varied first-hand accounts of how London has changed over the decades.

Cliff Rich, Contact the Elderly’s executive officer for London and the South, said: “We are so grateful to everyone at Goldcrest Land for welcoming us for such a lovely tea party. For many of the older people who we support this is the only opportunity they have to get out of their own homes.”
