Children’s charity Variety is hosting a touch rugby tournament and a half marathon this year, for those looking for a challenge in London.
The Touch Rugby Charity Tournament takes place on Sunday 13 July in Regent’s Park. Registration is £15 per player, and each player is asked to raise £200 in sponsorship.
It will be a family day, possibly with well-known faces including current and former England rugby players Chris Robshaw and Jason Leonard. There will also be games for wheelchair users. Teams will consist of 10 people, with six playing on the pitch at any one time, including two females.
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is on 12 October and the 13.1-mile scenic route winds through Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park and Green Park. You may also get the chance to see how you size up against Wayne Gordon, aka the fearsome Doom from the TV show Gladiators.
