Personal and SME insurance specialist Towergate Insurance is to open a 400-person telephone contact centre in Manchester , as revealed by Estates Gazette in February.
The firm will take 36,000 sq ft at Credit Suisse Asset Management’s 3 Hardman Square in Spinningfields at a rent of £30 per sq ft, as tipped in April.
The office base will provide services for Towergate’s small commercial and personal products, and will be the base of Towergate’s new Manchester business.
Investment agency MIDAS supported the requirement, alongside a 60,000 sq ft European HQ for Ford Credit at Ask Development’s £500m First Street .
Towergate’s new Manchester chief executive, Neil Galjaard, said: “We are determined to build something special at this new centre in Manchester. We’ve got a modern stylish building with the facilities and location to attract high-calibre candidates. The office is being fitted out with cutting-edge technology to create a great working environment.
“We are investing because we want to attract people who are passionate about customers and who want to build outstanding careers with us.”
MIDAS chief executive Tim Newns said: “The hard work continues as we help Towergate build the workforce that we know will make this new centre an outstanding success, and we look forward to working with partners from both the public and private sectors to make this happen.
“We continue to see substantial growth in this sector, providing large-scale employment opportunities for Manchester’s highly skilled and growing workforce.”
CBRE advised Credit Suisse Asset Management; Towergate was advised by Trilogie CRE.
