Rupert Murdoch’s News UK has sublet a floor of its new South Bank headquarters to Regus.
The workspace provider is under offer to lease the 30,000 sq ft third floor of the News building, SE1, originally developed as the Place and nicknamed the Baby Shard.
Quoting rents on the space are £55 per sq ft and Regus is understood to have agreed a 10-year lease.
News UK appointed BNP Paribas Real Estate last year to sublet three floors in the 428,000 sq ft building following its 2013 deal to lease the entire scheme from London Bridge Quarter, the Qatari-backed scheme developed by Sellar.
The terms of its 30-year lease were not disclosed, but it is understood to have agreed a rising rent of around £50 per sq ft.
News UK has so far occupied one floor of the building and will continue to transfer staff from Thomas Moore Square, E1, throughout the rest of the year.
It will house Murdoch’s UK newspaper empire as well as HarperCollins and Dow Jones staff.
The fourth and fifth floors of the building remain available to sublet.
