Ex-Stoke City FC player Mamady Sidibé and his wife Bineta are to open a French patisserie, Melice, at intu Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent.
Sidibe has agreed a 2,700 sq ft space on the Lower Mall. The patisserie will open in July.
Cineworld, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Chiquito and Frankie and Benny’s are all set to be part of intu’s £20m catering and leisure extension at intu Potteries and work has started on site for completion in 2015.
Sidibé said: “All our childhood memories are tightly linked to patisseries. In France, you find them in every street corner. Opening a patisserie is a way to let people indulge in gorgeous cakes and share our heritage.”
Lunson Mitchenall and Tushingham Moore acted for intu.
