Resi specialists go niche in Covent Garden

Former EA Shaw and Carter Jonas residential specialists have joined forces to launch a Covent Garden-focused advisory business.

Tavistock Bow founding directors Hannah Read and Anne-Marie Murphy are both former EA Shaw – now CBRE – residential specialists.

They have teamed up with Jamie Read, former head of sales at Carter Jonas in Marylebone and most recently principal of his own buying agency, to launch the new business.

The firm will be chaired by Richard Clare, an equity partner and former group chairman of EC Harris as well as a non-executive director at Grosvenor.

In their previous roles, the directors advised many of the West End’s institutional landowners and developers on schemes in Covent Garden, Soho, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury, St James’s, Mayfair and Marylebone.

Between them they built and handled an annual rent roll in excess of £14m pa.

Read said: “The big-firm approach has many benefits, but our clients tell us they want a street-by-street, floor-by-floor and block-by-block knowledge that a smaller, nimble agency like Tavistock Bow brings.”

Murphy added: “We have been told time and again that local property markets have dynamics that often ignore the national trends and values. Tavistock Bow will unlock these by being a local, truly independent, boutique property advisory business in Covent Garden.”
