UK property millionaires soar 49%

The number of property millionaires in the UK has shot up by 49% from last year.

There are now 484,081 homeowners that are property millionaires, according to the Zoopla 2014 property rich list.

The company also calculated that there are 10,613 streets in Britain where the average house value is more than £1m.

There are also 12 roads with average house prices over £10m, all of which are in London.

Kensington Palace Gardens, W8, and The Boltons, SW10, are the UK’s priciest streets, where average values are £42.7m and £26.6m respectively.

A Zoopla spokesman said: “Prime properties in the capital have long been a magnet for the super-wealthy looking for a safe investment asset. For the lucky few who can afford these stratospheric price tags, the fabulous mansions on streets like Kensington Palace Gardens and the Boltons are offering very strong returns.”
