Roger Lister passes away

Roger Lister, leasing director for London at Land Securities, has passed away after a sudden illness.


Prior to joining Land Securities in 2012, Lister was CBRE’s longest-serving city agent, spending 28 years with the company. He worked on some of the city’s most high-profile deals during his time with the CBRE, including The Gherkin , 30 Crown Place , EC2, Watermarket Place and Tower 42 .


He also advised occupiers including EBRD, Daiwa and KPMG.


During his two-and-a half year stint at Land Securities, Lister clinched a number of major leasings including 20 Fenchurch Street , EC3, and the letting of 2 New Ludgate , EC4 to Mizuho.


Robert Noel, chief executive at Land Securities, said: “In our frenetic world of meetings, data and decisions, Roger never forgot that people lie at the heart of the property industry. He dealt with everything that came his way with patience and a dry humour and always kept things in perspective. I knew him well, and we will all miss him.”


Michael Strong, executive chairman, EMEA, CBRE, added: “I had the privilege to work with Roger as a partner, colleague, friend, and occasional golf partner for nearly 30 years. Throughout that time Roger consistently demonstrated the highest level of skill, professionalism, integrity, and calm authority. He was a great example to all of those around him, and a tremendous teacher to so many young people. He will be hugely missed.”


Lister leaves behind his wife and four children.
