Miller Developments has been given the green light to build a 686,000 sq ft logistics centre for the Hut Group at Omega Warrington.
The local borough council has approved the project, which includes a two-storey office development on 41 acres, with capacity for future expansion.
By square footage it is the largest planning application to be consented in the North West so far this year.
The shed will sit within Zone 7 of Omega South, which was granted outline planning for 2.1m sq ft of logistics and manufacturing space earlier this year.
Miller Developments joint managing director Andrew Sutherland said: “As the second development to now come forward on Omega South – construction of a 618,000 sq ft unit for Asda is nearly complete – and only two small sites left on Omega North, this latest planning milestone reflects the significant progress being made on delivering the Omega masterplan. We are in a strong position to take advantage of market demand in the North West with planning secured for Zone 7 and are advancing discussions with potential occupiers which we hope will see further planning submissions over the next few months.”
Brakes, Hermes, Travis Perkins and Asda have all committed to the site.
GVA and JLL are the letting agents for the zone.
