Prime global residential rents climbed by 2.2% on the year to June, with Dubai coming in highest.
Knight Frank tracked 17 cities in its Q2 prime global rental index. Of these, nine posted flat or rising prime rents in the year to June.
Dubai held the top spot in Q2 having recorded a 14.1% increase in prime rents in the year. The emirate overtook Nairobi, which had seen four consecutive quarters at the top.
Rental growth in Nairobi halved from 25.8% in March to 9.9% in June, with asking rents peaking. In Dubai rents slowed from 16.4% to 14.1%.
Meanwhile in London, prime rents began their recovery at the start of the year and posted monthly growth of 0.9% in June – a three-year record.
