Liverpool Football Club has followed some of its North West Premier League rivals and signed for its first London office.
The club has signed a 10-year lease with Threadneedle and the Bedford Estates for 5,600 sq ft on the first floor of the Heal’s Building, WC1. Quoting rent is £65 per sq ft.
Ian Ayre, chief executive of LFC, said: “A lot has been achieved this year for the club’s commercial drive with nine new partners joining in almost as many months. It makes sense to open a London office, which will help us continue our commercial growth and service our expanding international business.”
He added: “This new office, in one of the world’s financial capitals, will provide a great location to begin talks with potential sponsors and help us better provide for our partners.”
The deal follows Manchester City FC last year signing a deal with British Land for just over 7,000 sq ft at British Land’s 10 Brock Street , NW1, while Manchester United FC also has a presence in the West End with a lease for 11,579 sq ft at 5 Stratton Street in Mayfair, W1.
Cushman & Wakefield advised Liverpool FC; Braham Good and Edward Charles & Partners acted for the landlord.
