Betfred owner Fred Done has submitted plans to enter the PRS market with a 380-homes project in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Done’s company, FICM, plans to build and retain ownership of the project on Trinity Way and Blackfriars.
Flats and townhouses will be built on the site of the Grade II listed Black Friars pub, which will be used as the building entrance.
A low-rise office occupied by law firm Crawfords would be levelled, with the firm moved to new ground-floor offices.
The Done outfit has spent two years assembling the site.
A separate development vehicle, the Mosley Street Ventures company, also has a plan to build a 157,000 sq ft office on St Peter’s Square. This was due to start in spring 2014 but has been delayed while revisions are made to the project.
Pending consent work could start next spring.
