North-South house price divide to widen

The next five years will see the wealth gulf between the north and south of England yawn wider as house prices in the south continue to rocket.

According to research by Rightmove and Oxford Economics, Southampton, Luton, Brighton, Swindon and Enfield will outperform the rest of the UK while values in the south increase by an average of 37%. Meanwhile parts of the north will show lesser rises, such as Carlisle at 17%.
