BMW has stuck a for-sale sign on its historic Bracknell home 30 years after it first moved in to the Berkshire town.
The German car giant has appointed GVA to market the campus, which totals almost 13 acres across two sites.
The principal 11-acre site at Ellsefield Avenue houses 53,000 sq ft of offices and 270,000 sq ft of warehousing. Lovalace Road, which has separate access, comprises 28,000 sq ft of office and workshop accommodation and totals just over two acres.
The site is likely to be targeted for redevelopment, but does not have any planning consent from Bracknell Forest council.
No guide price has been set; however, the comparable Reading Gateway site, which is under offer to Kier and Investec, has commanded a price of £1.2m per acre.
Assuming a similar pricing on the Bracknell scheme, bids could be in the region of £15m.
BMW intends to complete a disposal of the freehold interest when vacant possession is achieved in early 2015.
The company completed a deal last year to move staff based in Bracknell into its 300,000 sq ft office complex at Summit Avenue in Farnborough, Hampshire.
