Travis Perkins has become the latest retailer to blame the warm autumn weather for some disappointing sales.
The builder’s merchant said third quarter sales were about 12% higher than last year, but had slowed from the year-to-date figure of 14%.
Chief executive John Carter said many people had not yet started their home boiler to see if it was working.
