Stobart in at Daventry

Stobart_truck-THUMB.jpegPrologis has signed Eddie Stobart to take a 420,000 sq ft plot on Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal II, in a deal that completes letting on the site.

The purpose-built, rail-connected, cross-docked distribution centre will have a dedicated rail platform along one side of the building.

The final letting for the DIRFT II site enables Prologis to concentrate efforts on DIRFT III, on which the developer received consent for 8m sq ft of development in July.

Eddie Stobart chief executive William Stobart said: “We already occupy a number of buildings at DIRFT, and we know it is an excellent location for many of our customers.”

“This new building will further our rail capability and is a significant investment in the continuing success of our business.”

Construction will begin in November, with completion scheduled for next summer.

Prologis managing director Andrew Griffiths said: “This is the first building we have let to Eddie Stobart, and we are delighted that we can meet the company’s requirements.

“DIRFT II is now complete, but with our ongoing investment in DIRFT III, we can continue to offer our customers the best opportunities in the market for rail-served distribution facilities.”

JLL and Burbage Realty acted for Prologis; Roebuck Asset Management represented Eddie Stobart.
