A colossal, Ziggurut-shaped memorial to species made extinct by man could be built on the Jurassic cliffs of the Isle of Portland.
Ground was broken at the site of the the Mass Extinction Monitoring Observatory (MEMO), which will be the size of a medieval cathedral, be built of Portland stone and will cost £30m.
