FINANCE: Student housing developer Unite Group’s portfolio achieved 99% occupancy in the year to 3 November, up slightly from 98% over the same period last year.
The outlook for student numbers in the UK “remains positive” because the government cap may be removed for the 2015-16 academic year, according to this morning’s IMS.
The company has recently won planning consent for an 836-bed student accommodation development in Greetham Street, Portsmouth, scheduled for completion in 2016.
A further 1,250 beds are scheduled for completion in 2017 across two schemes in Aberdeen and Liverpool.
