Knight Frank coasts to Crown Estate brief

White-cliffs-of-Dover-THUMB.jpegThe Crown Estate has awarded Knight Frank a five-year contract to manage its south coast portfolio.

The agent will replace Humberts, which has held the mandate for more than 20 years.

The portfolio comprises more than 700 leases along the coast, including docks, yacht clubs
and a range of government-let assets. Tenants include the -Ministry of Defence and marina operators.

As part of the agreement, Humberts’ Southampton-based commercial directors, Stephen Butterfield and Simon Gardiner, will transfer to KF.

The pair will join the adviser as consultants and will be based at its office in Hamble, Hampshire.

It will bolster KF’s existing relationship with the Crown Estate, which includes managing interests in Wales and the South West.

Knight Frank partner Christopher Smith said: “We have a successful coastal management team run by Michael Bapty from our Bristol office and we are excited to build on this and -provide the scope of services unique to the Crown Estate.”
