Legal & General Property has won planning permission to redevelop 245 Hammersmith Road, W6.
On behalf of its managed fund, L&G has got the go-ahead to convert the office building formerly known as Bechtel House into a 242,000 sq ft office scheme with 13,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space.
Hammersmith & Fulham council backed the development last night.
Simon Wilkes, head of business space development at Legal & General Property, said: “Last night’s decision is a great step forward in the continued regeneration of Hammersmith, further supporting the growth of its established and dynamic office market.”
Arranged over 10 storeys, work is due to start on the Sheppard Robson-designed project in September 2015, with completion targeted for summer 2017.
Legal & General bought the building from CBRE in 2012 for £42.3m.
