Crawley Down houses granted planning permission on appeal

plans-THUMB.jpegPlanning permission for 51 homes in Crawley Down in West Sussex has been granted on appeal.

The plans, submitted by Nexus Planning on behalf of Gleeson Developments, were initially refused because the council decided they would have an adverse effect on a woodland at the edge of the town, which was protected by its local plan.

However, the planning inspector decided that aspect of the plan was out of date and, as such, it should not apply.

Adam Ross, executive director at Nexus Planning, said: “We are pleased that the inspector has agreed with our assessment that this proposal represents a sustainable form of development, and that the contribution it will make in meeting the housing needs of the district far outweighs the minimal impact it will have on the surrounding area.”
