Topps Tiles is planning to double store numbers in its new Boutique division following a successful trial.
The retailer said it wanted to open between 10 and 12 Boutique shops in the current financial year, including a cluster in the North West of England.
The expansion follows the trial of five of them in and around London experiencing a “halo effect” of above- trend sales improvements.
Meanwhile, across the Topps Tiles group over the past year, 16 new stores opened and nine were closed, resulting in a net increase of seven stores to bring the total at year end to 335.
In the year to 27 September, revenue increased to £195.2m from £177.8m the previous year. The company posted a pretax profit of 16.7m up from £10.6m.
