Britain’s high end stores are eschewing Black Friday, the US post-Thanksgiving sales day, despite other retailers adopting the new tradition.
Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Liberty have all declined to take part in the price-slashing American-import, while John Lewis, Tesco, Asda and Amazon are launching big Black Friday sales.
A spokesman for Selfridges said that it would stick with the traditional, British, Boxing Day sale.
