Lord Mendelsohn to advise on property

Lord Mendelsohn has been appointed head of Israeli-backed real estate business Cogress UK’s advisory committee.

In his new role the Labour peer will provide strategic counsel to the Cogress senior management team, following the firm’s recent entrance into the UK market.

The company officially launched in the UK in October. It pairs up investors and entrepreneurs seeking funding for residential and commercial property developments.

Since entering the UK it has secured 11 projects with a gross development value of £130m.

Tal Orly, chief executive at Cogress UK, said: “We are delighted to have Lord Menselsohn on board to advise us. Since launching our model in Israel we have successfully adopted the concept in the US and in countries across Europe.”

He added: “We have taken the next step by launching our unique structure in the UK and look forward to working closely with Lord Mendelsohn as we grow the business.”
