British Land has submitted plans for a £300m mixed-use development at Blossom Street in the Spitalfields area, E1.

The REIT has proposed a 350,000 sq ft scheme comprising offices, 13 shops and 40 flats across two acres.

The Allford Hall Monaghan Morris-designed plans also include 15,000 sq ft of new public space that would be accessible via a new pedestrian route running from Commercial Street to Shoreditch High Street.

Nigel Webb, head of developments for British Land, said: “Today represents a significant milestone in our plans for Blossom Street. This is a heritage-led scheme in a Conservation Area which will not only integrate with and enhance its surroundings, but provide a bridge between the City of London and Shoreditch.”

He added: “We have developed these plans following extensive constructive engagement with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, English Heritage, CABE and the local Conservation and Design Advisory Panel, who we would like to thank for their support to date.”

Duggan Morris and DSDHA are also advising on the designs.
