The number of Russians being granted investor visas jumped 69% on the year in the first nine months of this year, to 162, Home Office statistics show.
The visas provide a fast track to residence and citizenship to foreigners from outside the European Union in return for those concerned meeting investment criteria. Recently those criteria have been tightened – the minimum investment has been doubled to £2 million while restrictions on the type of investment have been introduced.
