Pocket secures Kingston buy

Housing developer Pocket has bought a site in Kingston, greater London, marking its fifth purchase in 2014.

The intermediate housing company has bought land on Cowleaze Road (subject to planning) from Knight Group.

It hopes to secure consent for a Haworth Tompkins-designed £10m 26-homes scheme next year.

Also this year Pocket has bought sites in Hackney and Wandsworth.

Pocket flats are sold outright at a price that is at least 20% cheaper than the average home in the same area.

Pocket’s Land director Nick Cuff said: “We are seeing significant demand for Pocket’s compact offer across London as the Pocket model becomes an established presence in London’s starter homes market.”

He added: “Whilst the land market is competitive, Pocket continues to source and secure infill sites for development and we anticipate 2015 to be a busy and exciting year for the business as we expand our operations into new parts of London.”
