Peter Rees has been awarded a CBE in the 2015 New Year’s Honours list for services to architecture and town planning.
Rees retired as chief planner of the City Corporation in March last year after 29 years.
Keith Exford, chief executive of Affinity Sutton, Stephen Quartermain, chief planner for DCLG, David Bennett, chief executive of Sanctuary Housing Group and the architect John Quinlan Terry also received CBEs.
Joan Baird, board member of Clanmil Housing Association, and Quod director John Stuart Rhodes received OBEs.
David Ashmore, chief exec of Greensquare Group and member of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, received an MBE for services to housing in the south west of England.
