Hands up if you overdid it during the holiday season. Hands up if you over-ate, over-drank, over-couched and under-exercised.
Don’t worry, that’s what the holidays are for. And here’s the perfect resolution to get you back on track and focused on a healthier you for 2015.
This year’s Property Triathlon, hosted by JLL, will be the biggest yet.
Taking place at Dorney Lake near Eton, Berkshire, on 3 July, the event will feature its classic sprint triathlon – 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run – as well as the relay triathlon and the return of the 2.25km Property Swim.
And there’s a new event for the non-swimmers in the real estate industry: a duathlon. The run-bike-run event will take place in the morning before the triathlon starter’s pistol fires.
Last year’s event sold out in less than 24 hours, despite capacity being raised to 3,000. This year, to help feed the industry’s appetite for sport, JLL has teamed up with Peel Holdings to launch a second event on 24 July.
The Northern Triathlon will take place at Media City in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester, and has capacity for 1,200 athletes to take part in an individual sprint or relay race.
Guy Grainger, UK chief executive of JLL, said: “The triathlon gets more popular every year, with the proof being in yet another record-breaking increase in entries and money raised for last year’s event.
“The launch of the Northern Triathlon in Manchester this year will mean that more of our colleagues across the country will be able to participate and help to raise more vital funds for charity. ”
JLL-sponsored triathlete and double world champion Helen Jenkins will be supporting athletes again this year. Don’t forget to have a look back over her swim, bike, run, transition and nutrition masterclasses to get you back in the training mood at www.propertytriathlon.com/masterclasses.
And set a reminder to visit www.propertytriathlon.com on 3 February to secure your place in the year’s biggest property sporting event.
