To the delight of 200 property professionals, concerns that there would be no snow proved unfounded as they descended on the French Alpine resort of Val Thorens on 10 January. Faced with plenty of the white stuff to play on and a plethora of après ski hotspots to choose from, PropSki’s biggest ever year started on a high. The minds behind PropSki guessed right when they thought that mountain air would be the perfect backdrop for young professionals to network. Estates Gazette kicked things off on the first night with a beer and pizza-fuelled speed networking event, breaking the ice and introducing attendees to future business contacts and skiing buddies. After the first day on the slopes and some chairlift deals, PropSki-ites headed to Bar 360 to learn that ski boots may be hard to walk in but are fine for dancing. With a flexible schedule and activities including mountain meals, races and challenges, there were lots of opportunities to meet, greet, ski and drink among a web of new and established contacts. Nightlife hotspots Saloon Bar and Malaysia kept connections going late into the evening, and race days and a bowling event promised an outlet for competitive streaks.
