Miller Development’s joint venture at Omega Warrington has signed a £23m forward funding deal for a manufacturing plant for Plastic Omnium.
The firm will occupy a 240,000 sq ft manufacturing facility within Zone 7 on Omega South.
The occupier will service its customer network from its new Warrington base, which will also include 20,000 sq ft of offices on a 20-acre site.
Miller Development joint managing director Andrew Sutherland said: “Having secured the North West’s biggest logistics deal in 2014, we are delighted to continue the momentum at the start of this year with a deal that heralds extremely positive news for the country’s manufacturing sector, and indeed for local employment.
“Added to the recent deal with The Hut Group, this latest signing reflects the strength of Omega’s offer to the manufacturing and logistics industries, with access to a huge labour pool and manufacturing expertise within a 30-minute drive time from the site. The benchmark has been set for 2015 as we bring forward these developments and hopefully see more pipeline deals come into fruition.”
Work on the new accommodation is now under way and set for completion in summer 2015, following the securing of reserved matters planning consent by OWL in November last year.
GVA and JLL acted for OWL.
