More than 500 Deloitte employees have signed up as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) allies as part of a new campaign called the Deloitte Allies Programme.
Its introduction follows the inclusion of Sharon Thorne, Deloitte’s managing partner for regional markets, in the 2014 OUTstanding in Business Top 20 Allies list, in recognition of her significant contribution to LGBT diversity and inclusion.
Nigel Shilton, managing partner for Deloitte and a recent LGBT ally, said: “The property industry is regrettably one of the last bastions to openly include the LGBT community. It’s more important than ever to encourage the importance of a broad understanding of diversity and inclusion.”
