Cargiant revs up planning team

Cargiant-logo-THUMB.gifCargiant has provided an update on its new masterplanning team that will go head-to-head with Queens Park Rangers FC in the battle for Old Oak Common.

The firm, which wants to develop a mixed-use scheme on land in west London, said that Arup and landscape architect West 8 have joined its masterplanning team.

They join the existing team, which includes London & Regional, architects PLP and DP9.

Tony Mendes, managing director of Cargiant, said: “There is already great momentum behind the project and we look forward to talking to local communities in the coming months so that those who already live and work around Old Oak Common directly help to shape its future.”

Sir Edward Lister, deputy mayor for planning, added: “Cargiant is set to play an enormously important role in the regeneration of the area and we are already working with their development partner London & Regional as they help to deliver the mayor’s vision for much-needed new homes and jobs.”

The landlord is competing against QPR FC, which also wants to launch a major regeneration at Old Oak Common, including a new stadium.
