The London School of Economics and fashion brand Uniqlo have taken the last remaining space at UK & European Investments’ No1 Kingsway, WC2.
LSE is expanding its occupational estate in the area by taking 13,430 sq ft on the sixth floor of the building for a new administrative office on a 10-year lease. Uniqlo will take 13,740 sq ft on the third floor, relocating its head office out of 311 Oxford Street, W1, on a 12-year lease.
The two deals mean the building – completed in 2012 – is now fully let. The pair will join existing tenants including construction firm John Laing, Leo Fund Managers and Tate & Lyle.
Rents at the 130,000 sq ft mixed-use building stand at between £65 and £70 per sq ft.
No1 Kingsway was completely rebuilt behind its original Trehearne & Norman-designed 1920s façade, comprising 105,000 sq ft of office space, seven flats and a ground floor restaurant.
JLL, Farebrother and Edward Charles acted for UK & European; Farebrother advised LSE; CBRE represented Uniqlo.
