Go-ahead for Marylebone police station scheme

Marylebone-Police-Station-THUMB.jpegPlanning permission has been granted to the Portman Estate for the demolition of the former Marylebone police station at 1-9 Seymour Street, W1.

A new six-storey development will be built fronting Seymour Street and Bryanston Street, including 24 flats, office and school space.

The Portman Estate signed a deal to buy the site in 2014.

The 70,000 sq ft block was vacated as part of the mayor of London’s Office for policing and crime’s plan to save £60m in running costs during 2013-16.

Gerald Eve advised on planning.
