Vertical village for Granada site

ITV-Granada-Manchester-1

Allied London is proposing new models for high-density sustainable living at St John’s Village on the former site of the ITV Granada Studios in Manchester.

Child Graddon Lewis has designed the 13.5-acre plot’s first “vertical village”, centred on two buildings linked by a garden bridge.

The tower would include 1,149 flats, a school, shops and leisure facilities, as well as green spaces over a total gross external area of 3.7m sq ft.

It is proposed for a site currently occupied by two car parks on Trinity Way.

The £1bn masterplan is due for completion in 2022.
