FINANCE: Wells Fargo has topped the ranks of 127 US commercial mortgage lenders for the sixth year running, according to data from the Mortgage Banker’s Association.
Across all types of financing the bank was the most active lender across asset classes.
Wells Fargo provided more than $50bn (£33.5bn) in finance in 2014, $10bn more than the next biggest lender JP Morgan, which extended $39.9bn.
In third place was Eastdil Secured which provided a total of $36.7bn.
In CMBS-backed deals Deutsche originated more deals than any other, followed by East Dil and JP Morgan.
For investment funds and REITS the originators of choice were KeyBank, Eastdil and NorthStar Realty Finance.
Eastdil was also the most active broker in dollar volumes followed by HFF and Meridian Capital Group.
