Arthur J Gallagher has agreed a deal to lease 55,000 sq ft at Viridis Real Estate’s 67 Lombard Street, EC3.
The insurer will occupy the lower four floors in the building on a 15-year lease. Quoting rents in the building are £65 per sq ft.
The firm established a new 90,000 sq ft HQ at the Walbrook Building, EC4, in 2013 and the latest acquisition will provide expansion space for the rapidly growing business.
Viridis, which is backed by a member of the Saudi Arabian Jameel family, bought the freehold development in 2008 for £20.5m from Exemplar and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund’s £400m Omega development portfolio after a deal to forward fund the scheme with a private Irish consortium collapsed.
Work on the scheme completed last summer.
