Parisian tea house Mariage Frères has struck a deal to open its first standalone UK shop on Capital & Counties’ Covent Garden estate.
The flagship store at 38 King Street, WC2, will cover 10,000 sq ft over six floors. Mariage Frères was founded in 1854 and until now distributed in the UK only through outlets including Claridge’s.
The company has signed a 10-year lease for the site, where the quoting rent is £850,000 pa.
