M&G appoints Williams

M&G Real Estate has hired Kerry Williams as a retail investment director, reporting to John Duxbury, head of retail. Williams will be responsible for sourcing retail sector acquisitions. He joins from Colliers International.

Global REITs outrun S&P 500

Global REITs delivered four times the returns of the S&P 500 in the first three months of 2015, according to the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index, which looks at 472 listed REITs across the world. It showed that global REITs returned 4.04% compared with 0.95% for the S&P index. European REITs delivered the strongest returns, at 6.01%.

Snoozebox narrows loss

Portable hotel specialist Snoozebox has narrowed its pretax loss by 40% from £9.4m in 2013 to £5.6m for the year ending 31 December 2014. The company said that exceptional costs in 2013 did not recur, and that operating costs decreased, offsetting a drop in revenue to £2.8m from £6.7m the previous year.
