Focus reception: Looking up in Leeds

The EG team and Leeds’ property fraternity took up residence in the Leeds Club for a few beers and what someone described as a “lovely spread” earlier this year.

We can’t quite decide whether the general good mood was a result of the improving economy and a rising property market or the previous week’s skiing holidays – there were rather a lot of ski tans on show. Whatever the reason, it was a good excuse to down a drink or two and there was plenty to talk about.

The Leeds skyline is filling with cranes as the result of an improving office market. The prospect of devolved powers has also given the city a spring in its step, although opinions are still divided about the merits of the proposed HS2 train line.
