Lansdowne in at Hammerson HQ
Hammerson’s headquarters is to be taken over by investment manager Lansdowne Partners once the REIT moves to King’s Cross.
Lansdowne has struck a deal to occupy nearly 30,000 sq ft at Grosvenor’s 10 Grosvenor Street, in Mayfair, W1. It will take occupation in the autumn. Hammerson is due to vacate in the summer.
Hammerson previously owned a 50% stake in the 57,300 sq ft block before selling to joint venture partner Grosvenor for £54m last year, completing its divestment from offices.
Hammerson is moving its 120 staff to 40,000 sq ft at Kings Place, N1. New office rents in Mayfair are typically upwards of £105 per sq ft. Hammerson is paying around £55 per sq ft in King’s Cross. Knight Frank is the letting agent on Grosvenor Street; Lansdowne was unrepresented.
