Dublin shed take-up soars

warehouse-shed-generic-interior-THUMB.jpegIndustrial take-up in Dublin for Q1 this year has risen nearly fivefold from the figure for the same period a year ago.

According to research from JLL, 1.23m sq ft were let across 50 deals, a 2% increase on Q4 2015.

Six transactions were for 60,000 sq ft or more, of which three were for more than 100,000 sq ft.

The majority of the deals were for secondary and tertiary space, with prime accounting for just 8% of take-up.

Secondary space accounted for 60% of take-up, and tertiary space 32%.

Hannah Dwyer, head of research at JLL Ireland, said: “Although demand remains focused on prime quality space, the limited choice for occupiers of good-quality stock is impacting the type of take-up quality, with the majority of deals signing for secondary and tertiary space.”
